Havanese make fantastic pets! They are hypo-allergenic and non-shedding, and their hair is extremely soft to touch. We find they are highly athletic, yet also very adaptable to various types of owners, as they do not necessarily require outdoor activities, with ability to keep fit indoors on their own. They are very comical and entertaining to interact with, and we love their clown-like behaviours. Havanese are extremely agile and sturdy pets, with a long average life-span of about 14 years.
Here is some interesting descriptive information quoted from wikipedia.
"Havanese is the national dog of Cuba, developed from the now extinct Blanquito de la Habana. The Blanquito descended from the also now-extinct Bichón Tenerife. It is believed that the Blanquito was eventually cross-bred with other Bichon types, including the Poodle, to create what is now known as the Havanese. Temperament: Intelligent, Affectionate, Responsive, Companionable, Playful, Gentle." Wikipedia
With the mom weighing 16 pounds and father 12 pounds, these pups are likely to grow between 12 and 16 pounds.
These dogs are intelligent, loyal and aim to please. They are highly social pets, thrive on human contact and do well when given lots of care and attention. If you have a fenced yard, that is a great way to help keep your puppy safe. We want to find homes where the owner/family is able to meet these needs and the big responsibility of being their best friend.
Their personalities are really developing now, so if you find they meet what you're looking for in a pet, come and visit them to experience their adorability!
